HELP EDUCATE ANENA BECKY SHILLOH 13 years PIRETEK EMMANUEL 16 years APWOYO-RWOT SHARON 14 years My name is OLARA SIMON a medical student at KAMPALA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY, I'm so grateful to reach out to you pertaining to the above cause I'm humbled and so blessed to be where I'm right now by the grace of God, being a boy from a poor family, It takes courage, determination and hard work to study human clinical medicine and community health in the only International University in Uganda and above all I thank the University board of trustees for blessing me with the University Bursary. I understand Uganda and the rest of the world are caught up in the web of covid19. Many people have lost hope, helpless, and striving so hard only to have a meal in a day just for the sake of survival. These amazing three students are few of the many children struggling with life at this time. EMMANUEL and SHILLOH live with their mothers and the most amazing story about these children is that they are very committed, hard working and have decided not to give up in life following subsequent hardship they go through every day, after the first phase of Covid19 they didn’t go back to school as their parents could hardly afford to even give them a meal in a day, I personally underwent through this situation in my early days but later I was blessed to be what I’m today by the grace of God. Hearing their stories and interacting with them and their parents prompted me to seek all possible ways I can support these amazing lives. SHARON has both of her parents together but they are incapable of supporting her in school, I don’t want to imagine a girl of her size with brilliant performance at school going into child marriage since that’s the last resort for most school dropout girls in my area. SHILLOH AND SHARON are in their first year of high school while EMMANUEL is in the second year of high school, commonly known as SECONDARY SCHOOL in Uganda. Being a nurse who is continuing with medical school with the ambition of becoming a medical Doctor, I happened to be an essential worker in this pandemic, As my country Uganda is still under 42 days of lockdown. Out of the little I raise I have been able to help these children to have something to feed on simply because they can no longer get enough from their homes As usual by the time I come back from work I find them already at my place and I do nothing other than welcoming them with love, providing them with food that I buy out the little money I make from the place of work. Still I have to balance this with studies. I feel they are already part of me and I’m part of them I would not only want to promote and support the physical growth of these children but I would also want to educate them so that they would stand as pillars in their respective families. As a great man once said, if you educate a man you educate an individual but when you educate a woman you educate the whole world, I have decided to raise loud the voices of these amazing two girls and one boy who are hopeless of ever getting back to school even after the 42days of the country’s lockdown. Studying in a local high school is a lot more affordable, Can you believe by raising $650 we would have educated a high school student in Uganda in a moderate high school for the whole year?? If we stand together we can help these children so that they may be blessed just like me and you together with many others have been blessed in life with the gift of education I believe it's possible when we wish to make this world a better place for all, when we put love to lead we can together conquer As this lockdown gets lifted my heart-cry is for these children to go back to school, since I have been blessed and now in the run to become a doctor in few years to come, help me support my dream of supporting these children to come to pass. I would often see them as light to their families struggling through darkness of hardship. Amazingly these kids are very brilliant; I have been able to see their performance in the lower levels of education. I'm really impressed and I see a bright future in these girls and Emmanuel. SHARON AND SHILLOH have 3yrs to finish their high school. They both need $3900 to finish their high schools in the three years’ time EMMANUEL has two years to finish his high school, He need $1300 to finish his high school making a Sum of; $5200 to educate all these children. After three years, I will have finished my course and their sponsorship through the Universities is already my personal responsibility. The only tool and weapon we now have to fight out illiteracy and poverty in our world is education You and I can support a child not because they will help us back in future but because at one point they will be able to be independent and responsible citizens. Together we can saw seeds of success in EMMANUEL , SHILLOH AND SHARON.
