This is a request for support of 1000USD to construct 15000 Ltr tank for Elgon Junior Academy located in in Namagumba B Community. The only water source is a borehole 1Km away that serves two villages. Pupils walk very long distances to line up for hours at these borehole.

Our community suffers challenge of access to safe water as there are no streams or piped water. there are a few Boreholes surving a very large number of households and these always dry up in dry seasons like October to March and June to July.

Social institutions like schools face similar challenge of limited access to safe drinking water for the students and teachers. This often has many negative effects to the learners like absenteeism, poor sanitation, poor performance, exposure of girl child to be lured by Men in the community and Many others.

During rainy season, runoff water from the iron sheet roof wastes away. if a tank is built, water can be collected to serve the school for about 45 days.
